The new Orca Alpha is a wetsuit without compromise.

The current model retains the characteristics of the previous in that it is an extremely flexible wetsuit with what Orca term a 'neutral' buoyancy, obtained by way of the new 'Exo-cell buoyancy system' - a new material which offers a 25% increase in buoyancy over the Aerodome system used in the 2010 Orca wetsuits.

'Neutral' buoyancy means that the wetsuit is buoyant around the hips as opposed to further down the legs as in wetsuits that have more of a 'positive' buoyancy such as the Orca 3.8 or the Sailfish ONE. This results in a wetsuit which performs extremely well under 1.5km swim conditions. The relatively high pace of an Olympic distance or sprint distance triathlon swim will result in a higher kick rate which will naturally keep the legs up and the body hydrodynamic as opposed to the steadier pace of an Ironman distance swim. This is the reason that this wetsuit is fast; well placed buoyancy encourages the legs to kick which thereby aids propulsion.

Orca have also revealed new levels of wetsuit flexibility in the Orca Alpha. The previous model was without doubt the most flexible suit in the world, the new suit is something else! This is surprisingly obtained with a slightly thicker, better quality neoprene than previously used meaning that one not only gets the all important flexibility but also the added durability not often found in top end wetsuits.
